Workshop on IMO Civil Liability Conventions is being held at Sheraton Batumi

Senior managers from Maritime Administrations and legislative draftspersons specialised in maritime and shipping related legislation from 12 countries in the Western Asia and Eastern Europe region gathered in Batumi from Tuesday 11 to Friday 14 September 2018 for the Regional Workshop on IMO Liability and Compensation Conventions.

The Workshop is organized by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) in cooperation with the Georgian Maritime Transport Agency, and it is held in conjunction with the Georgia International Maritime Forum – GIMF 2018 with the aim to support effective technical services to ensure safe and secure transport in the Region. This event will provide participants with an overview of the international liability and insurance requirements and schemes and will detail responsibilities of the various stakeholders involved (Governments, ship-owners, international funds, insurance companies, etc).
