STATE SECRETARY (DEPUTY MINISTER) MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS OF ROMANIA
Maria Magdalena Grigore was appointed State Secretary (Deputy Minister) at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania as of 19th of July 2018.
Prior to this, she occupied the position of State Secretary at the Romanian Ministry of Transports between January 2017 and July 2018, a position which she had occupied also in the period between January 2015 and November 2016. Her main areas of activity at the Ministry of Transports were: coordination of management of the subordinated railway, aviation and naval agencies; monitoring the investment projects included in the Operation Programme for Large Infrastructure 2014-2020; coordinating the European affairs and international relations activities.
In her position as a State Secretary at the Ministry of Transports, she represented Romania at high-level events of prestigious international organizations, such as UNECE-ITC, ESCAP, OECD-ITF, OTIF, OCCF, BSEC, Intergovernmental Committee of TRACECA. She also chaired the working groups for transports of the Mixed Intergovernmental Commissions for Economic Cooperation with countries in Europe, Central Asia, Western Balkans, Community of Independent States and Caucasus.
As of February 2018, Maria Magdalena Grigore occupies the position of Vice President of the Inland Transport Committee Bureau of the Economic Commission for Europe of the United Nations Organizations.
From July 2012, she is also the National Secretary of TRACECA for Romania.
She studied International Economic Relations at the Bucharest University of Economic Studies and she has two Master degrees.
